PUPPY was commissioned by the Bundaberg Regional Council for the 'Year of the Dog' Chinese New Year festivities in 2018. The work was created with the 'lucky' colours (red, purple and green) and numbers (3, 4 and 9) and flowers (the rose) for this particular year. Hylands chose to use the non traditional shape of the Australian kelpie for the work to create a fusion of cultures within the work.

PUPPY was attached to a small balcony on the side of the Bundaberg Civic Centre and was displayed for the duration of the Chinese New Year Festivities.
